Nahum Ward 1785
Born October 23, 1785, Shrewsbury, MA. and died April 6, 1860 in Marietta, Ohio. He married Sarah Catherine C. Skinner, October 21, 1827 in Marietta. She died in 1844. Married cousin Harriet Denny January 4, 1848. Invested in Ohio real estate, served as mayor and founded, built and endowed the Unitarian Church of Marietta. He had 7 children with his first wife.
Artemas Ward took ownership of the saltbox house and moved in with his family. Prior to this point they had been living in a different house in the center of town.
